Baltimore, MD (My Sportsbook) - St. Louis Blues captain Chris Pronger underwent successful surgery on his left wrist Monday at Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore. This was the third operation on the wrist for the 28-year-old Pronger, who was already expected to be sidelined until January. He hurt the wrist last February and had surgery to place a metal plate in the wrist. He had a second operation on the wrist in May. Dr. Thomas J. Graham performed the surgery, which included removing a plate from one of the forearm bones and releasing scar tissue. Also, a small amount of bone above the wrist was removed to allow for better motion. Dr. Graham and Blues' medical personnel will provide a timetable for Pronger's return to action in the upcoming weeks. Pronger, a former Norris Trophy winner, is also recovering from a torn knee ligament. Last season, the defenseman dressed for 78 games and tallied seven goals and 40 assists. |
