(My Sportsbook) - The Pittsburgh Pirates try to end a three-game slide on Saturday when they host the Los Angeles Dodgers in the middle contest of their three-game series at PNC Park. Pittsburgh, which is just 3-7 on a 12-game homestand, has dropped six of its last eight games overall and nine of its past 12. The Pirates are coming off a 5-2 defeat to the Dodgers in the series opener on Friday. Adrian Beltre knocked in the go-ahead run with an RBI double during a five-run ninth inning, as the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied for the victory over the Pirates. Mike Williams (0-1) got the loss after giving up three runs in two-thirds of an inning. Williams could not close out the game for starter Kip Wells, who pitched brilliantly. Wells pitched 8 1/3 innings and gave up just two runs. He surrendered only six hits and struck out six. Wells also homered for the Pirates. Salomon Torres makes his first start of the season for the Pirates on Saturday. Torres is unbeaten on the year (2-0) in seven relief appearances and posts an impressive 1.93 ERA. The righthander earned the win in his last outing, tossing five shutout innings of one-hit ball against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. For his career against the Dodgers, Torres is 0-1 in three appearances -- two starts -- with a 6.30 ERA.
