(My Sportsbook) - Paul Wilson threw seven solid innings and Felipe Lopez went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI to lead the Cincinnati Reds to a 7-5 victory over the San Diego Padres at the Great American Ball Park yesterday. Kelly Stinnett roped two doubles and scored twice, while Jose Guillen stroked two hits for Cincinnati, which took the final two of the three-game series and has won four of its last five. Wilson (1-2) allowed three runs on eight hits with a strikeout and no walks. Scott Williamson gave up a run in the ninth, but held on for his fifth save. With the victory, Cincinnati improved to 10-15 on the season, one game ahead of Milwaukee for fifth place in the NL Central. The 166 runs that the Reds have surrendered so far this season are the most by any team in the majors. Cincinnati is batting .231 this season and has struck out 225 times as a team. By contrast, its opponents are hitting .291 and have suffered only 129 strikeouts. After a brief rest today, the Reds will open a three-game set against Colorado tomorrow at Coors Field. Chris Reitsma, who is 1-0 with a 2.96 ERA this season, is slated to take the hill for Cincinnati.
