(My Sportsbook) - Fernando Vina's RBI single in the top of the 20th inning lifted the St. Louis Cardinals to a marathon 7-6 victory over the Florida Marlins at Pro Player Stadium. The game was the longest in the majors since a 22-inning contest between Minnesota and Cleveland on August 31, 1993. Tino Martinez finished 5-for-8 and Eli Marrero drove in three runs for the Cardinals, who won for just the second time in eight games. Steve Kline (1-3), the seventh Cardinal pitcher, worked three perfect innings to post the win. Carl Pavano (2-3), the eighth Florida hurler, was dealt the loss after surrendering the winning run in two innings of work. Pavano was scheduled to start Monday's game against Arizona. Scott Rolen ended 2-for-8 and has just four hits in his last 34 at-bats. Edgar Renteria continues to impressive for the Cardinals, as he is hitting .323 with 18 runs scored and 17 RBI. Righty Matt Morris will open a three-game set against the Mets tomorrow for St. Louis, which is not in action today.
