Boston, MA (My Sportsbook) - The Boston Red Sox activated pitcher Alan Embree from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday. The 33-year-old lefthander was sidelined with tendinitis in his left shoulder. Embree has appeared in four games this season and allowed five runs and six hits in 3 2/3 innings for a 12.27 ERA. He takes the place of injured reliever Chad Fox, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Monday. Fox has appeared in 10 games and recorded three saves in five opportunities this season. He is suffering from a strained oblique muscle. |
