(My Sportsbook) - The Toronto Blue Jays need a win tonight over the Texas Rangers to avoid being swept in front of their home crowd. Yesterday, Toronto yielded 18 hits and committed two errors in an 11-3 setback against Texas. Orlando Hudson had three hits for the Blue Jays in the loss. Tanyon Sturtze (3-2) suffered the loss, surrendering eight runs -- six earned -- on 11 hits in just 3 1/3 innings. He fanned three and walked one, but did nothing to improve upon Toronto's recent lackluster pitching. In the past three games, Blue Jays starters have allowed 19 earned runs on 26 hits in just 9 1/3 innings of work. The team is 1-2 in that stretch. Roy Halladay hopes to end that trend on Thursday when he takes the hill for the Blue Jays. At 0-2, the staff's ace is still searching for his first win of the season. Halladay failed to earn a decision in his last outing against Kansas City on Friday. He permitted four runs -- three earned -- on six hits in six innings, while walking one and striking out three. For his career, the righthander is 0-3 against the Rangers in eight appearances -- seven starts -- with a 7.20 ERA. Toronto has yielded 186 runs so far this season, one fewer than Cincinnati for the most in the majors.
