(My Sportsbook) - Esteban Loaiza hopes to build upon his incredible April tonight when he takes the hill for the Chicago White Sox, who will welcome the Seattle Mariners to town for a three-game set at U.S. Cellular Field. Loaiza is off to a 5-0 start and leads the American League with a miniscule 1.25 ERA. He also became the first White Sox pitcher since Wilson Alvarez in 1994 to win five games in April. The 31-year-old righthander, who was a non-roster invitee in spring training, allowed just one run and six hits in his last start, while striking out eight over seven innings in a 3-1 win over the Minnesota Twins on Sunday. Loaiza, who will be looking to join New York's Mike Mussina as the only six- game winners in the majors, is 2-3 for his career against the Mariners with a lofty 7.67 ERA. Chicago comes into the contest after stopping a two-game losing streak on Thursday with a 7-5 win over the Oakland Athletics. Magglio Ordonez went 3- for-5 with a homer and Miguel Olivo added a homer and three runs scored, as the White Sox salvaged the finale of the three-game set. Frank Thomas knocked in the go-ahead run in a two-run fourth for Chicago, which improved to 3-3 on a nine-game homestand and is 10-6 at home on the season. Jon Garland (2-2) went the required five innings for the victory. He gave up five runs -- four earned -- on four hits and four walks with one strikeout. Four relievers combined for four innings of three-hit ball, with Damaso Marte getting the final out for his second save.
