(My Sportsbook) - Kerry Wood tries to continue his impressive start to the season today, as the Cubs take on the Colorado Rockies in the finale of a three-game series at Wrigley Field. Colorado's Jason Jennings faces Wood in what will be the first pitching matchup of two Rookie of the Year winners in the National League since Wood and Hideo Nomo dueled on April 18, 1998, the year Wood claimed the award. Jennings captured the honor last year. In his last start, Tuesday at San Francisco, Wood rebounded from his only loss of the season by throwing six innings in a 4-2 victory over the Giants. The 25-year-old righthander has 48 strikeouts against just 18 walks this season and brings a career mark of 1-0 in four starts versus the Rockies into today's game. That win came July 31, 1998 at Wrigley Field. Yesterday, Preston Wilson broke an eighth-inning tie with a two-run homer, as the Rockies defeated the Cubs, 6-4. Charles Johnson knocked in a pair of runs and Todd Helton went 2-for-3 with two runs scored for Colorado, which snapped a three-game skid. Starting pitcher Carlos Zambrano homered and drove in two runs for the Cubs, who had their two-game winning streak halted and have dropped four of their last seven. Chicago has lost three of its last four at Wrigley Field. Chicago's Mark Grudzielanek is in a 3-for-31 slump. The Cubs have won nine of the last 15 meetings with Colorado.
