(My Sportsbook) - Detroit, which has dropped six straight after winning only its third game of the season, will try to stop the Tampa Bay Devil Rays from recording their first series sweep of the season today at Comerica Park. Detroit, will send 20-year-old Jeremy Bonderman to the mound. This will be the sixth start of the season for Bonderman. Bonderman was rocked in his last outing, allowing five runs on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings of work at Comerica Park against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday. Bonderman's only victory this season was the first of his big league career. In that outing, the young righthander showed signs of promise as he shut down the Oakland Athletics at the Coliseum, allowing one run on three hits in eights innings on the 23rd of April. Last night, Bobby Higginson, Carlos Pena and Craig Monroe all homered for the Tigers. Higginson and Monroe both finished with three hits. Tampa Bay, which squandered a four-run lead earlier, scored twice in the 10th for the victory off Tigers reliever Wilfredo Ledezma (0-2). Starting pitcher Adam Bernero permitted five runs on five hits and four walks in 4 2/3 innings. After last night's defeat, the Tigers are batting a collective .189 as a team. Detroit has been outscored 143-65 this season. The 65 runs scored are a league low.
