Phoenix, AZ (My Sportsbook) - The Arizona Diamondbacks placed pitcher Byung- Hyun Kim on the 15-day disabled Sunday with a right ankle injury. Kim injured the ankle in a game against Colorado when the barrel of Rockies center fielder Preston Wilson's bat hit him. Then, in his last start on Tuesday, Kim aggravated the ankle using a pickoff move against the Marlins. The righthander is 1-5 this season with a 4.00 ERA. Kim was converted as a starter this season after setting a franchise record with 36 saves last year. He earned his first victory as a starter on April 19, when he hurled seven strong innings in a 4-3 triumph over St. Louis. According to manager Bob Brenly, reliever Scott Service would be recalled from Triple-A Tucson to take Kim's spot on the roster. He also added that Miguel Batista, who had been scheduled to pitch Tuesday, would start in Kim's place on Monday in the opener of a three-game set against the Phillies. Andrew Good will get the call Tuesday in place of Batista. In another move, the team placed pitcher Stephen Randolph on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique muscle and recalled pitcher Chris Capuano from Tucson.
