(My Sportsbook) - Alex Gonzalez hit a towering home run into the left-field bleachers in the bottom of the 10th inning, lifting the Chicago Cubs to a 5-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies at Wrigley Field. This was the fifth time in his Cubs career that Gonzalez has hit a home run to end a ballgame. Ramon Martinez hit his first home run of the season and scored two runs for the Cubs, who took two out of three in the series. Joe Borowski (1-0) picked up the win after throwing a scoreless 10th. Kerry Wood started and lasted six innings. He gave up three runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and five walks. Matt Clement gets the ball for the Cubs tonight, when they open up a three- game set against the Milwaukee Brewers. Clement is 2-3 with a 3.38 ERA in six starts this season. In his last outing, Clement was roughed up for five runs on five hits in six innings of a 5-0 setback to the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday. He also struck out and walked two batters in receiving his second consecutive loss. Clement is 3-2 with a 5.24 ERA in seven career starts against the Brewers.
