(My Sportsbook) - Edgar Martinez homered and knocked in three runs to lead the Seattle Mariners to a three-game sweep of the Chicago White Sox with a 5-1 win in a five-plus inning rain-shortened affair at U.S. Cellular Field on Sunday. Gil Meche gave up his fist run in 26 1/3 innings, but still picked up the victory. He gave up just one run on four hits and struck out three. He has now won four of his last five starts. Meche (4-1) has not lost since his first start of the season on April 5th against the Texas Rangers. Ichiro Suzuki and Randy Winn also homered for the Mariners, who captured their first road-series sweep of the season. Seattle has now won three straight and 16 of its last 21 games. The Mariners outscored the White Sox by a 24-5 margin in the series. Southpaw Jamie Moyer gets the call for the Mariners on Tuesday, as he tries to record his fourth victory of the season. In his most recent outing, Moyer pitched six innings and allowed five earned runs while striking out four batters in his second loss of the year. Moyer (3-2) will be making the 28th start of his career against the Yankees and has a record 9-9 against them. He has also posted an ERA of 4.20 when facing New York, while striking out 107 batters in 178 innings of action.
