Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - The Cincinnati Reds activated shortstop Barry Larkin from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, optioning infielder Ryan Freel to Triple-A Louisville. The 39-year old Larkin strained his left calf against the Astros on April 10, and has not played since. "I have no real 'crampiness' or acute pain in the sore spot," Larkin said. "Just general soreness. So, nothing's alarming--all in all, I feel good." Larkin, in his 18th season with the Reds, is the major league's longest- tenured player with one team. The 1995 National League MVP has been beset by injuries since the beginning of the 2000 season, however, playing in just 310 of his team's 518 games during that span. The 11-time All-Star was batting .222 with five runs scored, no home runs and one RBI prior to his injury.
