Niagara Falls, Ontario (My Sportsbook) - Former Buffalo Sabres forward Steve Atkinson died of a heart attack on Tuesday. Atkinson was 54 years old. Atkinson joined the expansion Buffalo club in 1970 and played four seasons. He also played for Washington and Boston in the National Hockey League and for Toronto of the now defunct World Hockey Association. He also played for several minor league teams including the Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League where he scored 40 goals in 1969. |
