Phoenix, AZ (My Sportsbook) - Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Craig Counsell will be placed on the 15-day disabled list after dislocating his right thumb in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Counsell injured the hand in the sixth inning while sliding head-first into second base. He is expected to undergo an MRI Wednesday to determine how long the injury could keep him out of the lineup. The 32-year-old Counsell is hitting .276 with one homer and 10 RBI this season. The Diamondbacks are expected to recall infielder Alex Cintron from Triple-A Tucson to fill Counsell's roster spot.
