Starter Pat Hentgen hurled the first four innings for the Orioles and allowed four runs and seven hits. Gary Matthews Jr. had a two-run homer and Jeff Conine knocked in a pair of runs with a single for Baltimore, which has lost three in a row. Omar Daal takes the hill for the Orioles today. Daal is 2-3 with a 5.05 ERA in six starts this season. In his last outing, Daal threw seven strong innings, surrendering just three runs and eight hits in a 6-4 victory over the Tigers on Thursday. He also walked three and struck out four in picking up the win in his first career start against the Tigers. The Orioles had swept Detroit in a three-game set last week. Matthews' homer on Tuesday snapped a 1-for-15 skid.
