Young also had a single and Shane Halter added an inside-the-park home run for the Tigers, who extended their season-high winning streak to three games. Detroit is 6-25 on the season. Franklyn German (1-2) tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings for the win. He walked two and struck out a pair. Mike Maroth started the game for the Tigers and gave up three runs and three hits over seven innings. Gary Knotts will try to continue the Tigers recent success when he takes the hill against the Orioles today. Knotts is 0-3 with a 4.39 ERA in five starts this season. In his last outing on Friday, Knotts threw seven and two-thirds innings, allowing just one run and five hits, but was saddled with the loss in a 2-0 setback to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
