Affeldt (2-1), who was making his first start since April 19 due to a blister, set a career-high with six strikeouts. Carlos Febles and Michael Tucker each finished with two hits for the Royals, who suffered their first home loss of the season. Miguel Asencio will head to the hill for the Royals today. Asencio is 2-0 with a 4.14 ERA in six starts this season. On Friday, Asencio threw his first complete game of the year, allowing two runs and seven hits in a 5-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. He also struck out six and walked three. Asencio has only thrown one inning in his career against Boston and in that time he allowed four runs on four hits.
