Benoit made his first appearance of the season on Friday and was roughed up for four runs on three hits in five and one-third innings of a 6-5 setback to the Cleveland Indians. He struck out six and walked one in receiving the loss.

Benoit has never faced the Blue Jays in his brief major league career.
