Cleveland, OH (My Sportsbook) - Cleveland Cavaliers rookie guard Dajuan Wagner had surgery on Tuesday at the Cleveland Clinic to remove a blood clot in his ureter, the tube that connects his left kidney with his bladder. The clot was discovered Monday during tests for Wagner's bladder infection.

Wagner will remain hospitalized and the Cavs will update his condition on Wednesday.

There is a possibility that the 19-year-old Wagner, who was the sixth overall pick in this year's NBA Draft, may not be ready for the regular season opener October 29 at Sacramento. No date has been set for Wagner's return to the team.

Wagner, who once scored 100 points in a game while in high school in New Jersey, left the University of Memphis after just one year to play in the NBA. He is slated to make $2.3 million this season and $10.7 million over four years - per terms of the league's collective bargaining agreement.

In his freshman season at Memphis, Wagner set a school single-season scoring record and averaged 21.2 points per game en route to being named Conference USA's Rookie of the Year.
