St. Petersburg, FL (My Sportsbook) - The Tampa Bay Devil Rays recalled controversial relief pitcher John Rocker Friday, bringing the lefthander up from Double-A Orlando, while making several other roster moves. Rocker had been released late in 2002 by the Texas Rangers before being signed to a minor league contract by Tampa Bay on April 10. He threw in extended spring training and was then moved to Orlando, where he appeared in four contests and pitched four scoreless innings. In other moves, the Rays brought pitcher Jim Parque back from the 15-day disabled list, recalled Felix Escalona from Orlando and acquired outfielder Jason Tyner from Triple-A Durham. To make room on the roster, infielder Chris Truby and outfielder George Lombard were both designated for assignment. Tampa Bay also placed pitcher Steve Parris on the 15-day DL and optioned pitcher Victor Zambrano to Durham.
