San Diego, CA (My Sportsbook) - The San Diego Padres placed right-handed pitcher Adam Eaton on the 15-day disabled list Friday due to a strained right groin. The move is retroactive to May 5. San Diego also purchased the contract of lefthander Roger Deago from Double-A Mobile while transferring Phil Nevin from the 15-day disabled list to the 60- day DL. The 25-year-old Eaton went 1-3 with a 3.73 ERA in seven starts so far this season. He recorded a team-high 41 strikeouts and walked 14 batters while allowing opposing hitters a .232 batting average. The injury was suffered on May 4 versus Philadelphia. Deago registered three victories to go along with a 3.51 ERA in six starts at Mobile. He is scheduled to make his first Major League start on Saturday versus the Mets at Shea Stadium. |
