Sacramento, CA (My Sportsbook) - Sacramento Kings All-Star forward Chris Webber is expected to miss the remainder of the playoffs with a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee. An MRI taken by team physician Dr. Richard Marder Friday revealed the tear. Webber will have to undergo arthroscopic surgery and will need at least four-to-six weeks of recovery time. "Chris has been a true warrior all season, having played through a number of injuries," said Kings President, Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie. "This is a huge disappointment, both personally and professionally for Chris and the entire organization. He's had another All-NBA season and is our team leader. However, we have always proven to be a very resilient team when confronted with these types of situations in the past. I'm sure our team will be ready to respond to the challenge." The injury occurred in Thursday's 132-110 loss in Game 2 of their Western Conference semifinal series in Dallas. Webber went down with just over three minutes remaining in the third quarter after injuring his knee while attempting to jump for a lob pass near the Dallas basket. He was helped off the court by teammates and was escorted to the locker room on a cart before undergoing x-rays. He did, however, limp back towards the Kings bench as the fourth quarter began. The 30-year-old Webber had accumulated 31 points and six rebounds in the game before suffering the injury. He has been playing through pain in his knee during the playoffs. The Kings also lost guard Bobby Jackson early in the fourth quarter of Thursday's contest after he suffered a non-displaced fracture of his right orbital bone. However, Jackson has been cleared to play in Game 3. Sacramento and Dallas are tied at one game apiece in the best-of-seven series. Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday in Sacramento.
