Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - St. Louis Cardinals outfielder/catcher Eli Marrero was forced to leave Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs with a severely sprained right ankle. The game was eventually postponed due to rain. Marrero left the game in the fourth inning after sliding to avoid teammate Jim Edmonds in the outfield. He was carried off the field on a stretcher and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for x-rays. Marrero came into the game in place of J.D. Drew, who left the contest with a stiff lower back. The 29-year-old is hitting .227 with two homers and 15 RBI in 24 games this season.
