The Devil Rays allowed the Tigers to tie a season-high with nine runs scored and set a season-high for hits with 15. Carl Crawford notched two hits in the losing effort for the Devil Rays and was picked off at first base. Joe Kennedy will take to the hill on Tuesday for the Devil Rays, as he takes on the Blue Jays in the opening tilt of a three-game series from SkyDome. He recorded his third loss of the year last time he was on the mound, pitching just four innings after surrendering 10 earned runs and 13 hits against the Twins. Kennedy (2-3) has a perfect record of 5-0 in his career against the Blue Jays, while posting an ERA of 3.46. Earlier this season, Kennedy pitched eight innings against Toronto and allowed three earned runs en route to a victory.
