East Rutherford, NJ (My Sportsbook) - New York Giants wide receiver Amani Toomer is out for the season with a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. An MRI on Tuesday revealed the injury, which will require surgery. Toomer doesn't know exactly when he suffered the injury during the Giants' 14-10 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday. Toomer had 32 catches for 360 yards with three touchdowns this season for the 6-2 Giants. New York battles the NFC's best team this Sunday when the 7-1 Chicago Bears visit Giants Stadium. The injuries do not stop there for New York. Michael Strahan, who was diagnosed with a Lis Franc sprain in his right foot, is officially listed as out for this week's contest versus the Chicago Bears, while fellow defensive end Osi Umenyiora is doubtful (hip flexor). Wide receiver Plaxico Burress (back), linebacker Carlos Emmons (groin), cornerback Sam Madison (hamstring) and wide receiver Sinorice Moss (quadriceps), meanwhile, are all listed as questionable.
