(My Sportsbook) - The Montreal Expos try to hold on to second place in the NL East as they open a three-game set against the San Francisco Giants at Pac Bell Park tonight. The Expos will send Zach Day to the mound tonight. Day is 3-1 on the year with a 2.89 ERA in seven starts. Day has won his last two decisions, but failed to record a decision in his last outing. The righthander allowed six runs on five hits over five innings of work against San Diego in his last start, walking four and striking out three. Day will make his first career start against the Giants. He has made just one relief appearance against the team, throwing two innings. Montreal is coming off a 4-3 setback to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday in the rubber match of their three-game set. The Expos have still won four of their last six games overall. Michael Barrett collected a hit, a run and an RBI for the Expos, who dropped their first Olympic Stadium series of the season. Livan Hernandez (3-2) suffered the defeat after surrendering four runs, three of which were earned, in 6 1/3 frames. The 28-year-old righty also yielded six hits and three walks, while striking out five. Montreal's Vladimir Guerrero did not play because of the flu. Montreal won four of the six meetings between the teams last season, winning two-of-three in San Francisco.
