(My Sportsbook) - The National League West's last place team, the San Diego Padres, are desperately in need of a win. They are coming off a short road trip in which they went 1-5. San Diego will come home to Qualcomm Stadium to take on the Florida Marlins in a three-game set, which begins tonight. The Padres, who have just two victories in their last 14 games, will sent Clay Condrey to the mound tonight. The 27-year-old righthander will make his ninth appearance, including his sixth start of the year, tonight. Condrey didn't get a decision after allowing six runs on seven hits last Wednesday at Montreal, when he threw 4 1/3 innings. This will be Condrey's first career appearance against the Marlins. Yesterday, San Diego lost 3-2 to the Mets as Luther Hackman's wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning allowed Roger Cedeno to score the go-ahead run for New York. Rondell White and Ryan Klesko each knocked in a run for the Padres, who lost their fifth consecutive series. This is the first meeting of the season between the Marlins and Padres. Florida went 5-1 versus San Diego in 2002.
