New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Cincinnati Reds third baseman Aaron Boone was named National League Player of the Week for the period ending May 11th. In seven games last week, Boone batted .391 (9-of-23) with five home runs, 10 RBI and eight runs scored. He hit a game-winning home run last Monday against St. Louis and added three more homers during an 8-6 win over the Cardinals on May 8. Boone helped the Reds win six of their seven games this past week, including a four-game sweep of St. Louis. He had at least one RBI in six of the seven contests. The honor is the second-career Player of the Week Award for Boone. He previously won the award back in September of 1999. Other players nominated for the weekly honor included Boone's teammate Austin Kearns, Arizona's Miguel Batista and Curt Schilling, Montreal's Wil Cordero and Orlando Cabrera, Philadelphia's Jim Thome and Randy Wolf, Colorado's Preston Wilson, Los Angeles' Fred McGriff and Houston's Geoff Blum and Brandon Puffer.
