(My Sportsbook) - The Blue Jays suffered only their third lost in their last 11 games last night by a score of 7-5 to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the opening game of a three-game set at the SkyDome. Last night, Toronto starter Tanyon Sturtze was saddled with the loss, the second setback in three decisions against his former team. Sturtze (3-4) surrendered five runs on nine hits and a walk while fanning six. Orlando Hudson and Josh Phelps each hit solo homers for Toronto, while Jayson Werth drove in a pair of runs for the Blue Jays. Carlos Delgado doubled in the loss to end an 0-for-16 skid. He has not driven in a run, though, since last Wednesday, but still leads the league with 37 RBI. Toronto will pin its hopes today on righthander Cory Lidle, who will be looking for his fifth win in as many decisions. Lidle, 5-2 with a 4.94 ERA on the year, is 4-0 over his last five starts. In his last start on Thursday, the 31-year-old hurler allowed four runs on eight hits over six innings in an 8-6 win over the Texas Rangers. His last loss came on April 11 against the Minnesota Twins. Lidle has faced Tampa Bay three times in his career and is 1-1 with a 6.61 ERA.
