(My Sportsbook) - The Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers resume their three- game series on Wednesday when the teams tangle in the middle contest of the set at Fenway Park. Boston opened a 12-game homestand on Tuesday by rallying for a 5-4 victory over the Rangers. Nomar Garciaparra's RBI double capped a three-run eighth inning and led the Sox to the win. Manny Ramirez and Trot Nixon each hit solo homers for the Red Sox, who have won four of their last six games. Garciaparra has hit safely in 14 straight games. Alan Embree (2-0) earned the win after tossing a perfect eighth, while Brandon Lyon posted his fifth save despite surrendering two hits in the ninth. Casey Fossum aims to win his third straight decision on Wednesday when he takes the hill for Boston. The lefthander is 3-1 on the year with a 4.38 ERA in seven starts. In his most recent outing, Fossum recorded the victory against Kansas City last Tuesday, permitting three runs on five hits in 6 2/3 innings. He walked five and struck out two. Fossum is 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA in three career appearances -- two starts -- against the Rangers. The Red Sox have had a rocky beginning to the month of May posting a 6-5 record. However, Boston is 24-14 overall and only two back of the first-place Yankees.
