Dallas, TX (My Sportsbook) - The Dallas Stars announced Wednesday that the club has assigned defenseman Sami Helenius to the Utah Grizzlies of the American Hockey League for a conditioning assignment. Helenius, 28, has been a healthy scratch for the Stars' first seven games this season after going scoreless in four preseason contests. The 6-6, 230-pound defenseman has appeared in 96 games with the Stars over the past two seasons, registering one goal and two assists. In 140 career NHL contests, Helenius has posted two goals and three assists for five points with 226 penalty minutes. He has also played for Calgary, Tampa Bay and Colorado. The Stars (4-2-1-0) begin a three-game road trip on Thursday night against the Calgary Flames.
