(My Sportsbook) - Staff ace Kerry Wood takes the hill today for the Chicago Cubs as they attempt to complete a four-game sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park. Wood has been very good this season, winning four of his five decisions in eight starts. Most importantly, the Cubs have recorded wins in six of his eight outings. The 25-year-old fireballer has gone without a decision in back- to-back starts. Last time on the hill, Wood surrendered just four hits and one run over seven innings en route to a no-decision against St. Louis. He struck out eight and walked three in the contest. Wood has been decent against the Brewers in his career, tallying a 4-5 record with a 3.18 ERA. The righty has surrendered 50 hits and 30 earned runs over 85 innings of action. Yesterday, Chicago posted a convincing 6-1 decision over Milwaukee. Troy O'Leary smashed a three-run homer for the Cubs in the winning effort. Hee Seop Choi went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI and Alex Gonzalez was 2-for-4 with a run for the Cubs, who have won four straight. Gonzalez had one hit in his last 17 at-bats before the outing. Carlos Zambrano (4-3) was masterful, striking out seven and walking one, while allowing just one run. Mike Remlinger pitched a hitless ninth inning for the Cubs. Chicago has won four of the first six 2003 meetings between these clubs.
