(My Sportsbook) - The Phillies will try to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Arizona Diamondbacks as the two teams complete a three-game set at the Vet today. Yesterday, former Phillie Curt Schilling led the Diamondbacks to a 2-0 victory in the second game of the series. Brett Myers (3-3) was saddled with the loss despite turning in a strong performance. Myers yielded two runs on just four hits while striking out six and walking one in eight innings. Bobby Abreu and David Bell had the only hits as Philadelphia dropped its third straight contest. A loss today would mark a season-high for the Phillies. Lefthander Randy Wolf hopes to stop Philadelphia's slide today, as he heads to the mound. Wolf has won his last two starts and has been spectacular in that time, allowing just seven hits and a run over 15 innings. Wolf tossed a five- hit shutout last Saturday against Houston and allowed only one runner to reach third base all night. Wolf, who is 3-0 at home this season, holds a 2-1 career mark in five games against Arizona. Jim Thome is batting a disappointing .254 for the Phillies this season, but he does lead the squad with eight home runs and 30 RBI.
