(My Sportsbook) - The struggling San Diego Padres open a four-game set against the National League's top team, the Atlanta Braves. San Diego is tied with the Milwaukee Brewers for the worst record in the NL. Since a three-game winning streak from April 23-25, the Padres have lost 14 of their last 17 games. The Padres' woes continued on Wednesday in the form of a 10-3 loss to the Florida Marlins. Brian Buchanan stroked two hits and drove in all three runs for the Padres, who have dropped four of their last five contests. Rondell White added two hits in the loss. San Diego starter Mike Bynum (0-2) was pounded for seven runs on eight hits in four-plus innings. The Padres will pin their hopes on rookie righthander Roger Deago this afternoon. Deago didn't record a decision in his major league debut last week, giving up five hits and two runs over six innings. The native of Panama struck out four and walked three in the no-decision. San Diego and Atlanta have split the 12 meetings in this series. The Padres are 4-2 in their last six home contests but just 7-12 at home this season. Following this weekend's series, the Padres will hit the road for seven straight.
