(My Sportsbook) - Torii Hunter made a tremendous catch to deny Carlos Lee of a game-tying home run in the seventh inning, as the Minnesota Twins edged the Chicago White Sox, 3-1, in the middle contest of a three-game series at the Metrodome. Jacque Jones went 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Twins, who have won four out of five and improved to 6-3 on their 10-game homestand which ends on Sunday against the White Sox. Corey Koskie added a pair of hits and an RBI for Minnesota, which followed up their 18-3 victory on Friday with a superb all- around effort. Joe Mays (4-3) threw 6 2/3 strong innings for the victory. He gave up seven hits, one run and did not walk a batter. Eddie Guardado pitched a perfect ninth inning for his ninth save of the season. Taking the hill for the Twins today is Kyle Lohse, who is an even 3-3 with a 3.27 ERA in eight starts this season. In his previous outing on Tuesday, Lohse threw seven strong innings, allowing one run and eight hits in a 4-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals. He walked none and struck out seven, but did not receive a decision. In his only appearance of the season against the White Sox, Lohse was roughed up for five runs and seven his in just four and one-third frames. He also struck out eight and walked two in taking the loss. Lohse is 5-2 with a 3.12 ERA in 10 career appearances, nine starts, against the White Sox.
