(My Sportsbook) - The St. Louis Cardinals try to get back on the winning track today when they continue their four-game set against the Chicago Cubs at Busch Stadium. In the second game of the series on Saturday, St. Louis dropped a 2-1 decision. Albert Pujols homered for the Cardinals, who have lost four of their last six games. Steve Kline (1-4) suffered the defeat, permitting Bellhorn's homer. Brett Tomko started the first seven innings for St. Louis and gave up one run on nine hits. Jason Simontacchi will oppose Chicago's Shawn Estes today for the Cardinals and is 1-3 on the year with a lofty 7.41 ERA. Simontacchi was pounded in his last start against Cincinnati on Tuesday, allowing seven runs and seven hits in just 1 2/3 innings. The righthander has struggled with his command this season, allowing 40 hits and 19 walks in 34 innings. In three career starts against the Cubs the 29-year-old Simontacchi has posted a 1-2 record with a 6.19 ERA. These squads split a pair of meetings at Wrigley Field last weekend with the finale of the set being rained out. The Cardinals are 14-8 against the Cubs since the start of the 2002 campaign.
