(My Sportsbook) - The New York Mets try for a split in their four-game series with the San Francisco Giants this afternoon when the two teams wrap up their set at Pac Bell Park. On Saturday, Steve Trachsel allowed one run and four hits in a season-high eight innings to lead New York to a 5-1 win in the third installment of the weekend set. Jason Phillips had two hits and Cliff Floyd added a two-run homer for the Mets, who snapped a four-game losing streak and notched their first regular- season win at Pac Bell after 12 losses. Trachsel (2-2) walked one and struck out three. Armando Benitez worked the ninth for New York. Veteran lefthander Tom Glavine will head to the hill for New York today and is 4-3 on the season with a 4.76 ERA. Glavine allowed three runs on nine hits in his last start, but did not factor in the decision of his team's 9-8 loss to the Colorado Rockies. The 37-year-old Glavine, who has allowed three runs in each of his last three starts, is 17-13 with a 3.56 ERA in 36 career starts against the Giants. New York has lost nine of 10 versus the Giants and 13 of the last 17 in the series.
