Minneapolis, MN (My Sportsbook) - Minnesota Twins first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz left Sunday's game against the Chicago White Sox due to a sprained left ankle. In the bottom of the second inning, Mientkiewicz landed on third baseman Joe Crede's foot as Crede tagged him out while retreating to third base after a pitch bounced away from catcher Miguel Olivo. Mientkiewicz entered Sunday's contest batting .268 with three homers and 14 RBI. Mientkiewicz is coming off a disappointing 2002 campaign for the AL Central champion Twins. He batted .261 with 10 home runs and 64 RBI in 143 games. In 2001, he hit .306 with 15 home runs and 74 RBI in 151 games and also won the Gold Glove Award.
