Denver, CO (My Sportsbook) - The Colorado Rockies hired Duane Espy to be their hitting instructor Wednesday. Espy spent the last three seasons in a similar position with San Diego. Before joining the Padres in May of 2000, he spent 22 seasons as a minor league manager, coach and instructor. The 50-year old Espy played eight seasons in the minor leagues. Originally drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 1971, he finished with a .274 average and 35 home runs in 826 games.
