Kevin Appier takes the mound for the Angels on Tuesday, when they open up a three-game set against the Baltimore Orioles. Appier is an even 2-2 with a 5.52 ERA in six starts this season. In his last outing on Wednesday, Appier surrendered just two runs and six hits in six innings of a 5-3 victory over the New York Yankees. He also struck out four batters, but received a no decision. Appier is 6-10 with a 3.89 ERA in 24 career starts against the Orioles. Tim Salmon has the longest hitting streak in the majors this season at 20 games. Anaheim leads the AL with 40 stolen bases.
