(My Sportsbook) - Bret Boone and Carlos Guillen both slammed two-run homers, as the Seattle Mariners knocked off the Detroit Tigers, 6-2, in the finale of a three-game set at Comerica Park on Sunday. Seattle completed the series sweep and has won six of its last seven, while the Tigers have lost four straight. Joel Pineiro (4-3) pitched eight innings to earn the win. He allowed two runs on four hits, while striking out seven and walking two. Ichiro Suzuki finished 3-for-5, while Greg Colbrunn hit his second homer of the season for Seattle, which swept the Tigers in a three-game series in Detroit for the first time since September 6-8, 1985. Ryan Franklin takes the mound for the Mariners on Tuesday, when they open up a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals. Franklin is 3-2 with a 3.58 ERA in eight starts this season. In his last outing on Thursday, Franklin lasted only three innings, allowing no runs and two hits in a 9-1 victory over the Cleveland Indians. He struck out two and walked none in receiving a no decision. Franklin is 2-0 with a 3.27 ERA in two career starts against the Royals. Suzuki extended his hitting streak to 10 games on Sunday. Mariners are 22-3 when they score five or more runs this season. The Mariners are 11-0 in day games this year.
