Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Philadelphia Phillies reliever Rheal Cormier appealed a $750 fine he received for an incident which occurred during spring training. The Phillies start a three-game series with the New York Mets on Tuesday and Cormier is expected to meet with MLB president and chief operating officer Bob DuPuy on Tuesday. Cormier threw a pair of inside pitches with Toronto ace Roy Halladay at the plate in an exhibition contest on March 26. Philadelphia manager Larry Bowa was ejected during the game for yelling at Halladay and causing the benches to empty. Bowa received a one-game suspension which was served on April 8 against Atlanta. Cormier has been brilliant of late, having tossed a league-best 19 1/3 scoreless innings and counting.
