Winnipeg, MB (My Sportsbook) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed wide receiver Derick Armstrong to a contract extension on Thursday. Terms were not disclosed, per club policy. Armstrong made 25 catches for 302 yards with three touchdowns in five regular season games and one playoff tilt last season for Winnipeg. He signed with the club as a free agent on September 19. "The reason I'm coming back is I felt like I was wanted there and the team felt like I could contribute and make plays for them," Armstrong said. Armstrong played 36 games with the Houston Texans of the NFL through 2003-2005. His best season in the NFL came in 2004 when he hauled in 29 passes for 415 yards and a TD.
