Seattle, WA (My Sportsbook) - Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Runelvys Hernandez was scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners with tendinitis in his right elbow. The 25-year-old Hernandez was replaced by Darrell May, who was unable to prevent the Royals from losing their fourth straight game. Kansas City lost 7-4 to Seattle at Safeco Field. Hernandez, Kansas City's Opening Day starter, won his first four decisions this season. He has struggled ever since and is currently in the midst of a personal three-game losing streak. He is 4-3 with a 2.79 ERA in nine starts this season. Hernandez is not expected to be placed on the disabled list.
