Houston, TX (My Sportsbook) - Houston Astros starting pitcher Brian Moehler has a partial tear of the medial collateral ligament in his right elbow and will most likely miss the remainder of the season. Moehler, who is currently on the disabled list retroactive to April 17th, must now decide whether to undergo Tommy John surgery or use an extensive rehab period to try and recover. The 31-year-old righthander will make his decision in the next few days. "I want to decide as quick as possible," he explained. "If I'm going to have surgery I want to do it right away. I don't want to keep waiting. I'll go home and think about it tonight and in the next couple days I'll have a decision." Moehler has no record this season and a 7.90 earned run average in three starts.
