Cleveland, OH (My Sportsbook) - The Cleveland Indians activated pitcher Jason Bere Thursday from the 15-day disabled list. Bere had been on the DL since the start of the season due to discomfort in his right shoulder after a simulated game on March 30. The 31-year-old Bere signed a one-year contract with the Indians in December after spending the previous two seasons with the Chicago Cubs. During an injury-plagued 2002 campaign with the Cubs, Bere went just 1-10 with a 5.67 ERA in 16 starts. Bere, who is playing in his 11th major league season, owns a career record of 71-65 with a 5.14 ERA. The Indians optioned pitcher Carl Sadler to Triple-A Buffalo to make room for Bere on the roster.
