=== Arizona Diamondbacks Team Report - May 22 === (My Sportsbook) - The Arizona Diamondbacks were defeated by the San Francisco Giants last night in the rubber match of a three-game set, 6-0. The Diamondbacks are idle today and will resume play Friday when they finish their 10-game homestand with a four-game set against the San Diego Padres. Miguel Batista (3-3) suffered the loss, allowing five runs and seven hits over six innings. David Dellucci, Mark Grace, Rod Barajas and Alex Cintron accounted for Arizona's hits. Arizona, which has struggled out of the gate this season, has yet to put the pieces together and have fallen 8 1/2 games back of the first-place Giants. Luis Gonzalez leads the Diamondbacks in at-bats (180), runs (26), hits (54), home runs (9), RBI (26) and walks (22). Brandon Webb will head to the mound Friday when the D'Backs face the Padres. |
