=== Mets' Bell placed on disabled list; Vaughn to 60-day DL === Flushing, NY (My Sportsbook) - The New York Mets placed infielder Jay Bell on the 15-day disabled list Thursday after he strained his right groin during Wednesday's 5-4 win over Philadelphia. Bell, who is batting .214 with three RBI, is the ninth Mets' player to go on the disabled list in 2003. In other transactions, Mo Vaughn was transferred from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL. Vaughn underwent X-rays and an MRI on May 6 which revealed arthritis in his left knee. He was originally placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 3. Vaughn, the 1995 American League MVP with the Red Sox, was batting a lowly .190 with three home runs and 15 RBI in 27 games prior to his injury. To fill the roster spot vacated by Bell, the Mets purchased the contract of lefthanded pitcher Pedro Feliciano from Triple-A Norfolk, where he was 3-2 with a 3.97 ERA.
