ATLANTA (AP) -Marion Barber ran for a 9-yard touchdown to give the Dallas Cowboys a 31-28 lead over the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday night.

Michael Vick threw four touchdown passes, the latest one coming early in the third quarter, and Morten Andersen broke the NFL's scoring record on the second of his four extra points.

The 46-year-old Andersen, who was out of football in 2005 before the Falcons re-signed him in September, has 2,437 points in his 24-year career.

Atlanta opened the third with a seven-play, 55-yard drive that ended with Vick's 5-yard pass to Justin Griffith for a 28-21 lead.

Terrell Owens had a pair of touchdown catches for Dallas, a 7-yarder that opened the scoring late in the first quarter and a 51-yarder that gave the Cowboys a 21-14 lead with 3:08 left in the second.

Just four plays after Owens' first TD, DeMarcus Ware returned an interception 41 yards for a touchdown.

Ware's first career pick on the first snap of the second quarter. The second-year linebacker caught the ball after Vick tried to avoid quick pressure from defensive end Chris Canty.

Nobody was close to Ware, a second-year linebacker and former first-round draft pick, when he caught the ball and ran down the left side of the field.

The Falcons cut the lead to 14-7 after Rod Coleman tipped Tony Romo's pass and Michael Boley intercepted the pass and ran 40 yards to the Dallas 12.

Two plays later, Vick connected with Griffith for a 1-yard score.

On the next-to-last play of the first quarter, the Falcons lined up Vick at running back and used Matt Schaub at quarterback. Schaub completed a 10-yard pass to Michael Jenkins. The play marked the first time that Vick has lined up at running back in his six-year career.

Atlanta used a similar formation on its next possession, but it was Vick's arm that burned the Cowboys on a 52-yard pass to Roddy White down the left side.

Two plays later, Vick found Jenkins wide open as they connected for a 9-yard touchdown in the left side of the end zone.

Owens, who beat cornerback DeAngelo Hall on both of his scores, now has 11 touchdown receptions this season.

Vick and White connected for a 43-yard pass that gave the Falcons first-and-goal with 30 seconds left before halftime. After a penalty nullified Vick's 3-yard TD pass to Griffith, the quarterback hit Ashley Lelie for an 8-yard laser that tied the game at 21-21.

The Cowboys (8-5), coming off an embarrassing home loss to New Orleans last week, were seeking their fifth win in six games. Atlanta (7-6) had won two straight after ending a four-game losing streak.

Martin Gramatica's 48-yard field goal on Dallas' first drive of the third quarter cut the lead to 28-24.
